DDMiers | via PRNewswire | Only Kids Allowed: Open Call To Recruit Singapore’s First Ever Child “Board of Directors” To Rebrand Lakto As Part of Yummy United’s Product Line | SINGAPORE, July 18, 2022 (PRNewswire) — A groupștiin — Food Union’s subsidiary Yummy United makes tasty, high-quality food for kids all over the world. In Singapore, they have started to look for students to join their “Board of Directors.”
As a brand made for and now run by children, this is the first time Yummy United has hired kids in this way in Asia. The campaign has already been run successfully in Italy and Russia since 2019.
“People often say that children are our future, but more can be done to help them learn and grow in a safe environment. At Yummy United, we’re always looking for new ways to help curious minds learn about professional concepts and turn their creative ideas into real products that can be made and sold “says Serene Lu, the Managing Director of Food Union for Asia and the Pacific.
Want Your Child To Join? This is how:
From July 1 to July 31, people between the ages of 8 and 12 who want to apply must submit a hand-drawn, digital, or written resume online. Not only that. A 20-second video is also more than welcome if you know a student who is full of weird and creative ideas.
Thirty to forty students will be chosen from these applicants for an interview behind closed doors at Hustle, a Singapore-based side-hustle marketplace that brings together the services of local hustlers and offers skill-based workshops, before a final group of twenty students is chosen to go on the programme. Even though children don’t have to go to the interview, those who do get extra points for being one of the twenty because they get to say everything they want to say. Want to draw or dance out your strangest thoughts? Why not? Let’s do it!
Now comes The Real Stuff.
In August, successful students can expect to go through a training program designed by Hustle that is both immersive and educational. The program is designed to engage the modern workforce and the curious by giving them hands-on workshops to learn and improve their skills. All of the trainers are experts in their fields, so both young and old students will be in good hands.
Jeremy Foo, the founder of PR firm Elliot & Co, and Koh Cheng Guan, the marketing director of creative agency WPR Asia, are just two of the industry veterans who teach students about business and help them improve their leadership skills.
“As a father myself, I’m excited to be a part of this creative project to help our next generation of talented people grow. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for them to work in the real world and learn more about what some of their parents do. I think that this program has been carefully thought out to help children learn and grow “Jeremy Foo, the founder of Elliot & Co., says this.
Now the magic starts.
Out of the twenty, four will be chosen to make up the “Board of Directors,” which will include a Finance Director, a Creative Director, a Public Relations Director, and a Marketing Director. With these roles, the board will be able to conduct interviews, design product packaging, calculate and predict costs, and even choose what goes on the brand’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
As Yummy United’s newest product, they will work as a team to come up with new ideas for and rebrand the Lakto dairy product line from Food Union. Lakto sells cheese curd bars and ice creams that are high in protein and made with the freshest Nordic milk and Belgian chocolate. Lakto brings 100% preservative-free snacks to the table of every family. These snacks are a great source of energy for kids ages 3 and up.
The program will end with the official launch of the new Lakto range with Yummy United in March 2023. Each of the 20 chosen students will get a S$110 Back-to-School pack that includes a bucket hat, a tote bag, and writing supplies.
